Maverick Adventures: Visiting Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas

Regarding tourism in Las Vegas, the first few activities that come to mind are the classic ones – gambling, dining, shopping, and entertainment. But as a maverick traveler, you don’t stand for the ordinary and expected. You’re looking for something off the beaten path, with a little bit of danger and a lot of fun. Information can be found here.

If that’s the kind of experience, you’re after, visiting Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is one Vegas attraction you won’t want to miss. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and casual, perfect for a family outing or just a group of friends looking to experience something a little out of the ordinary. See here for information about Exploring the Expansive Wax Collection of Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.

Shark Reef Aquarium offers a unique, interactive experience as you get up close and personal with over 2,000 aquatic animals. As you venture into the tunnel aquarium and explore the dramatically lit 1.3 million gallon shipwreck environment, you’ll come face-to-face with 15 species of sharks, the deadly golden crocodile, the endangered sea turtles, and a wide variety of other species of eerie and exotic predators native to the depths of the tropical oceans around the world.

Your journey starts with a tour of the Dangerous Reef, where you can touch and feed harmless stingrays. But if you’re feeling a bit bolder, you can even venture further and put your fear of sharks to the test. From the safety of an underwater viewing area, you can watch as five species of sharks – the delicate nurse, the slow-moving sand, the wily blacktip, the sweeping white tip, and the ferocious hammerhead – swim around you barely a few feet away.
